First stills for William Chan, Ma Sichun’s Age of Legends

Age of Legends stars William Chan (Lost Love in Times) as Liu Ziguang, a youth from a humble background who later becomes a neighbourhood hero after helping to crush a powerful crime syndicate led by Nie Wanfeng (Liu Yijun)Ma Sichun (Oh My General) costars as Hu Rong, an upright policewoman who becomes the hero’s ally and love interest.

The 50 episode drama directed by Liu Jin (The King’s Woman, I Am Not An Elite) recently wrapped up filming, and will air as a daily drama some time this year on Dragon TV and Zhejiang TV.


National Treasures come alive in new CCTV program starring Tony Leung, Wang Kai and more

National Treasure 国家宝藏  will showcase 27 historical artifacts from 29 different museums across the country with the help of “protectors” (listed below), who will then present the story behind each piece in a short stage performance.

William Chan, Ma Sichun are dark and gritty in Age of Legends posters

Filming has begun for upcoming crime action drama Age of Legends 橙红年代, an adaption of Xiaoqixiao’s novel of the same name.

William Chan (Lost Love in Times) plays Liu Yiguang, a hot-blooded youth who returns to his hometown after eight years, and becomes a true hero who protects them from dangerous criminals and shady corporations. Ma Sichun (Soul Mate) plays Hu Rong, a badass police woman and Liu Yiguang’s main love interest.

The supporting cast includes Liu Yijun (Lost Love in Times) as main antagonist Nie Wanfeng, Chen Yao (So Young) as the CEO of a large corporate firm who has romantic feelings for the protagonist, He Minghan (Double Sweet Wife) as a loyal police officer, Ye Zuxin (My Ruby, My Blood) as Liu Yiguang’s good friend Bei Xiaoshuai and Li Jianyi (In the Name of the People) as an ex-soldier and car mechanic.

Age of Legends is helmed by director Liu Xin (Little Valentine), and will have 50 episodes.

Legend of Fuyao releases stills of its main cast

Legend of Fuyao is the upcoming period fantasy drama starring Yang Mi (Brotherhood of Blades II) as Meng Fuyao, the cenral figure in a complicated love heptagon. Ethan Ruan (Candle in the Tomb – Weasel Grave) plays Zhangsun Wuji, the prince of Wuji Kingdom who also has a mysterious connection to the Firmament.

Also featured in the stills below are Gao Weiguang as Zhan Beiye, the unfavoured prince of Tiansha Kingdom, Lai Yi as the physician Zong Yue, Zhang Yaqin as Yalanzhu and Liu Yijun as the corrupt state preceptor of Wuji Kingdom.

Shanghai’s gang lords unveiled in new teaser for Great Expectations

The new trailer for Great Exectations 远大前程 focuses on second generation mob bosses Huang Jinrong, Du Yuesheng and Zhang Xiaolin, played by veteran actors Ni Dahong (Intrude the Widow Village at Midnight), Zhao Lixin (Chinese Style Relationship) and Liu Yijun (Lost Love in Times) respectively.

Chen Sicheng and Yuan Hong (Let’s Fall in Love) play a pair of friends who travel up to Shanghai to seek refuge with labourer Yan Hua (Fu Dalong). The former becomes involved in a love triangle with an orphan who is intent on avenging her father’s death (Tong Liya) and the daughter of the richest man in Shanghai (Amber Kuo). Of course, he later learns to put aside personal feelings for the greater good, aka the promulgation of Communist ideology.

The solid supporting cast includes Guo Jinglin (National Bottom Line), Tan Kai (The First Half of My Life), Chin Shi-chieh (Brotherhood of Blades II), Lian Yiming (TLTWTMPB) and Xu Yajun (In the Name of the People).

Great Expectations is co-produced and written by Chen Sicheng, whose previous directing and writing credits include Detective Chinatown and Beijing Love Story. The 60 episode drama is slated to air later this year.

Character posters for Legend of Fuyao

The new posters for Legend of Fuyao make it seem like Yang Mi (Brotherhood of Blades II) and Ethan Ruan (Begin Again) are endorsing some online game – hopefully the leads will look better in action.

Costars include Liu Yijun (Lost Love in Times) as new character Qi Zhen and Gao Weiguang (Mr Pride vs Miss Prejudice) as the passionate second male lead Zhan Beiyewho has an unrequited love for the female lead. New actress Zhang Yaxin (Schoolyard Legend: Three Lives Three Worlds Peach Blossom Destiny) plays the lovable Yalanzhu, princess of the Fufeng Kingdom who has a one-sided love for Zhan Beiye.

The group of friends will travel through the kingdoms, and eventually make their way across the sea to defeat Di Feitian, the evil guardian of the Firmament (who ALSO has complicated romantic feelings for Meng Fuyao).

Directed by Yang Wenjun (So Young) and written by Jie Yanyan (City of Hopeless Love), the 60 episode drama has been filming since June 27th.

Promo Round-up: Lost Love in Times

Lost Love in Times stars Liu Shishi (The Battle at the Dawn) as Feng Qingchen, a sorceress who lives for love. Her love interest is Yuan Ling (William Chan), a prince who decides to avenge his father’s death by rebelling against the current Emperor (Liu Yijun). Qingchen opens a parallel universe to prevent an uprising by seventh prince Yuan Zhan (Xu Haiqiao), and everyone’s memories except hers are wiped clean.

The 54 episode drama will air every Thursday to Friday beginning tonight.
